We're celebrating the life of Congressman Ralph Regula, champion of the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area, with a bicycle ride and picnic in Stark County! Select from an 8, 16 or 32-mile bicycle ride on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Start times are staggered based on your ride choice, and the event ends with lunch by the canal!
Canal Cleanups offers users of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail the opportunity to keep our natural spaces healthy and thriving for generations to come! All cleanups currently take place at Summit Lake Park. Water, trash bags, gloves and grabbers are provided. Please wear appropriate shoes/clothing for the weather. All participants must sign an agreement, waiver and release form located in the online registration.
The Richard Howe House is a trailhead and visitor center along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in Downtown Akron, and also serves as the offices of the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition. It is located beside the Considine Building of Akron Children's. Our front and lower entrances are accessible via ramps and there is a small parking lot.
