Only a few streets are labeled, so stay aware of where you are! Answer a simple question at each checkpoint (e.g., house number of a home with a windmill in the front yard). Want to improve your on and off-trail navigation ability? Join us at Richfield Heritage Preserve for a three-hour session that will feature lecture and field work (rain or shine). You will be introduced to topographical and orienteering maps, take a compass bearing using a baseplate compass, learn some important orienteering lingo and techniques, and generally how to be successful as a beginning navigator and orienteer.
