EVERYBODY: But we do have plenty of great educational events targeted towards children too.
Mosquito Lake is one of the largest lakes in Ohio with more than 7,000 acres of surface area. The surrounding parkland covers 2,483 acres of mature woodlands and expansive marshes which provide safe haven for wildlife. Boating and fishing may be two of the top outdoor activities here, but the park also offers hiking, horseback riding, and snowmobiling in winter.
No upcoming events at the moment. Check back later!
100% of our activities at the sate park are beginner friendly. The only exception being boat rentals, which renters should have prior boat driving experience, and a valid Ohio fishing license is required (16 and older) for fishing.
For group camping: Two group camp sites offer a primitive camping area with some shade. Each site accommodates up to 40 people; pets are allowed. Each site has picnic tables and a charcoal grill. Drinking water, showers, and flush restrooms are nearby. Tent camping only, no RVs allowed. Mosquito Lake programming includes a variety of nature and community events hosted by Mosquito Lake State Park and the Friends of Mosquito Lake organization. Activities range from naturalist-led programs, including birding hikes and talks on local flora and fauna, to recreational programs like archery, BB gun shooting, and paddling classes. The park also hosts larger community events, such as fishing programs, nature play areas for kids, and seasonal gatherings like the annual Big Birding Weekend.
